Thursday Night at the Courthouse Talks

This free program is held every second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.  Guest speakers from around the region and state bring exciting topics to the Courthouse for guests to enjoy.

Meriendas at the Courthouse Music Series

This musical series is held every 4th Sunday of the month and feature guest performers from around the area and Andrews University, bringing a global sound the Cornerstone county. 

The series admission is $5.00 for the public and $2.00 for BCHA members and Andrews University students/staff with ID. This series is on hiatus due to COVID-19 until 2021.

Circle in the Square Yoga

Join the BCHA every Thursday in the summer and fall of 2020 as we host Circle on the Square yoga on our grounds.

Led by certified yoga instructor Tara Velez, this weekly series lets you find nirvana against the most unique backdrop in the county!

Class are held on the Historic Jail Plaza or grounds when the weather is good and inside the Courthouse if is not.  The cost is $5.00 per class for BCHA members and $10.00 for the public.  Packages available!  Register ahead or just show up!

Berrien County Sketches Scavenger Hunt

Held quarterly, this photo scavenger hunt pulls its clues and answers from Berrien County Sketches by Robert Myers.  Twelve clues are sent out on Thursdays during the hunt period and participants are to send their photos and answers to us at info@berrienhistory.org.

Clues are posted on Facebook and sent out via email each week.  All correct answers get you an entry into a drawing for an amazing BCHA themed prize package!

BCHA Home Activity Kits

Our home activity kits allow families to explore history if they are unable to visit the grounds. Designed for students, each kit contains several activities that explore some aspect of Berrien County’s history.  Available once a quarter, you can reserve your kit by emailing us at info@berrienhistory.org.

Kits are free for BCHA members and $5.00 for the public.

Don’t let cabin fever ruin your day!  With these great historically inspired crafts and activities, you’ll be sure to beat the winter blues!

Q2 Kit: Lakeshores and Dunelands

Berrien County is rich with geographical diversity and this quarter’s kit explores how that has shaped our history.  Hands-on activities will let your child learn how these special ecosystems help our biomes survive.

With an election around the corner and the 100th anniversary in full swing, let your child learn how our government works with four special-made activities sure to get them thinking civically!

December is a time of celebration for millions of people around the world.  Learn how different cultures end the year with fun activities and more!

Haunted Tours

Every October, the BCHA, the Heritage Museum & Cultural Center, and the Twin City Players join forces to let you hear the dead speak.  Two tours are held each October and guests enjoy an immersive experience like none other!

2020 tickets will go on sale September 10.  They can be purchased here.  Limited day of tickets will be available, but are NOT guaranteed.  RSVPs are highly suggested.

Spooky State Street Tour

A tour of the handsome homes of State Street take a different turn this October as we explore the haunted history of each one!  From suspicious noises to moving parts, these stories will make your hair stand on end!

  • Date: October 10th (Rain Date: 10/11)
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
  • Costs: $10.00 adults/ $5.00 children
  • Location: Bear Park at the corner of State and Market Streets

Tours every half hour and groups are limited to 20 people maximum.  There are limited day of tickets available, so RSVPs are highly suggested!

Ghoulish Graveyard Tour

The dead aren’t quiet this October as we discover ghastly behavior, ghoulish deaths, and gory stories that will be certain to keep you up at night!

  • Date: October 24th (Rain Date: 10/25)
  • Times:
    • 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m (Seniors and high-risk individuals)
    • 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (General Public)
  • Costs: $10.00 adults/ $5.00 children
  • Location: Lakeview Cemetery (1918 Lakeview Ave.)

Tours every half hour and groups are limited to 20 people maximum for general public tours and 10 people for our special tours.  There are limited day of tickets available, so RSVPs are highly suggested!
