As part of our mission, the BCHA collects and preserves photos, newspapers, journals, letters, and other paper items in our archival vault. Only a handful of these collections are available digitally (see below), but as part of the long term plans for the Archives and Collections, the BCHA will seek to digitize the items we have and make them available to the public.
County property and vital records remain in St. Joseph at the county administration building, please contact them here.
For those interested in using our collections for research, in-person sessions are free and available by appointment only. Copies and other related services are available for a small fee. Parties interested in doing research but are unable to come on-site can pay an hourly fee to have one of our staff pull the information for you. Preliminary research requests are always free.
Parties interested in using our photos or archival material for media purposes should review our Image Reproduction Permission Form. Questions about this form should be directed to our Curator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The BCHA is a collecting institution and as such, accepts donations of archival material into our collection. However, to ensure your item meets our policy guidelines, please visit our Research & Donation page.
